"Dinner in the Dark" Comes to Dahlonega on November 8
A Unique Sensory Experience to Raise Awareness for Vision Loss
Dahlonega, GA — On Friday, November 8 at 5:30 p.m., the community is invited to take part
in a powerful and unforgettable evening as Dinner in the Dark comes to the Dahlonega Funeral
Home Community Room, located at 20 Gibson Road.
Guests will enjoy a full-course meal in total darkness—removing the sense of sight to heighten
the remaining senses of taste, smell, touch, and sound. This immersive event not only offers a
unique dining experience but also brings attention to the daily challenges faced by those living
with vision impairment.
“Dinner in the Dark challenges participants to rethink how they engage with the world,” said
Secretary of Gold City Lions, Keely Zeitlin. “It’s not just a meal—it’s an opportunity to build
empathy, gain perspective, and walk away with a deeper understanding of life without sight.”
