WINTER ART CLASSES
The Dahlonega Arts Council announces its Winter Art Classes at the Olde Cannery Art Center.

9:30am - 4pm
This introductory wire wrapping workshop includes a kit of materials to make a gold-filled wire wrapped cabochon pendant and a sterling silver wire-wrapped bracelet with beads. Tools provided to each student for use at the workshop will include (but are not limited to): flat-nosed pliers, round-nosed pliers, end-cutters, and a pin-vise for twisting wire. These tools will be available for purchase, also, for those wishing to do so. Also recommended (but not required, nor provided) is an Optivisor. Good eyesight is important.
Stones to be used will be distributed by lot. The cabochon provided in each kit will be a 30x22mm oval of Labradorite, Dolomite, Rhyolite, or one of several varieties of Jasper. Students may trade with another student. Many other stones, both ovals and free forms, will be available at additional cost.

Beginner Knitting Class
For Adults 18 and older – 4 classes on Saturdays in the month of February.Saturday, February 2, 9, 16 & 23, 2008

Cathy has been knitting for 40 years. Her Fair Isle tunic won “Best Knitted Item” and “Best of Adult Needlework” at th Gilmer county Fair in 2001. She began spinning her own yarn 7 years ago and enjoys dyeing fiber. If you’re willing to practice, you can absolutely learn to knit! This is a total of four classes, on Saturdays from 12-2pm.
Classes will be at The Olde Cannery Arts Center, home of the Dahlonega Arts Council, 61 Enota St, Dahlonega, next to the old historic jail.
